EN INAUGURATION OF THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE WARSAW BATTLE OF 1920 IN THE WOLOMIN COUNTY
On July 15, at the Poviat Heritage and Creativity Center, the inauguration of the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw 1920 took place in the Wołomin District - the land of Norwid and the "Miracle on the Vistula". At the invitation of Adam Lubiak - the Wołomin Staroste, the event was attended by representatives of all 12 communes from our poviat, priests, heads of poviat units and services, and local community workers. The inaugural lectures were given by professors Wiesław Wysocki and Jan Żaryn. During the meeting, the Staroste Adam Lubiak presented the schedule of the main anniversary events that will take place on August 13-16, incl. in Ossów, Radzymin and Wołomin. There was also presented a commemorative medal designed by Robert Szydlik - Vice-Starost Wołomiński, which was received by all the guests. The events of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw were held under the National Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, on the Centenary of Regaining Independence. The Honorary Patronage was taken by: - Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, - Minister of Culture and National Heritage Piotr Gliński, - Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak, - Bishop of the Warsaw-Prague Diocese, Romuald Kamiński, - Masovian Voivode Konstanty Radziwiłł, - Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship Adam Struzik.
